Who do we serve?

About ABC

Our goal at ABC is to serve those in need of behavioral support across their lifespan. The majority of our clients are diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism, an intellectual disability, ADHD and/or have a dual diagnosis; however, no formal diagnosis is required to receive services.

Amanda Wheeler (Peacock) is a Registered Behaviour Analyst in Ontario (R.B.A. Ont.) and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with a Masters in Applied Disability Studies. Amanda has been supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and dual diagnosis for over 18 years.

Behaviour Consultation

Behaviour Consultation

Our consultation service takes place either in the family home (behaviour reduction goal) or in centre (skill acquisition goal). When the block of consultation focusses on behaviour reduction, our goal is to teach caregivers the most effective strategies to use when reducing a challenging behaviour within the home setting.  This 12-week service includes: A functional assessment, a written Behaviour Plan, and ongoing in- home behaviour coaching.  Our skill acquisition consultation takes places in the centre, and over the course of 12 weeks, the Supervised Behaviour Consultant and client work on 1-2 goals in a 1:1 setting.  These goals could include: emotional regulation, executive functioning, social interactions, appropriate hygiene, etc.  These goals are individualized and both an assessment and written Program Plan are provided to families. All clinical supervision is overseen by the Supervising RBA. Rates are $100/ hour (additional indirect fees).

What to expect?

  • An initial Intake (phone)
  • Observation (1-2 settings) or baseline of existing skills in center
  • An individualized Behaviour Plan (behaivour reduction) or Program Plan (skill acquisition)
  • 1:1 weekly consultations for skills acquisition goals for 12 weeks
  • Caregiver Coaching in home for Behaviour Reduction goals
  • Written summary report
