Our goal at ABC is to serve those in need of behavioral support across their lifespan. The majority of our clients are diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism, an intellectual disability, ADHD, and/or have a dual diagnosis; however, no formal diagnosis is required to receive services. We primarily serve ages 1-18 years, however, we do consultation with adults depending the need.
Amanda Wheeler, owner of ABC has experience serving children (2-12 yrs.), youth (12-18 yrs.), and adults (18+). As a BCBA, Amanda will provide services within her area of expertise. If you require support outside her area of expertise, ABC will work to make appropriate referrals.
Amanda has an incredible team of Senior Therapists and Instructor Therapists ready to serve you. Our Senior therapists are BCBAs or working towards this designation. Our Instructor Therapists are Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBTs) or working towards this designation. At ABC, we take pride in ensuring we are current in ABA knowledge and constantly updating our skills to best serve your children.
What is ABA?
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to improving socially significant behaviours. ABA is a process of applying strategies and interventions derived from the principles of behaviour. This demonstrates that the strategies or interventions applied are responsible for the improvement of behaviour. (Cooper, Heron & Heward, 2007). Socially signification behaviours are applied and will truly enhance and improve an individual’s quality of life. These may include goals related to academics, activities of daily living, self- care, social interaction, communication, vocational skills, and leisure skills. (Cooper, Heron, & Heward, 2007).
